What you should be doing on social media

SOME PEOPLE STILL PREFER A PAPER COPY, AND IT’S NOT JUST BABY BOOMERS:

HubSpot asked their audience what they thought of their PDF eBooks, and the results were a bit surprising. Before this experiment began, they wondered if their core personas still appreciated the downloadable PDF format or if everyone was just reading on a website page. To their surprise — and ours as well — an astounding 90.2 percent of responses said they prefered to have a downloadable PDF than reading it in a web browser. They also found that their core personas liked to print the eBooks as well, which consisted of varying age groups.

Why this matters...

Your organization is creating eBooks to showcase your mission, so be sure there is a PDF option available to your audience. With such a deep dive into a specific topic, eBooks can be an excellent way to expound upon all the benefits and uniqueness of your nonprofit. You and your constituents have amazing stories and insight that most people don’t know about or get to see, so express that content and let others connect with your organization’s vision.

DON’T IGNORE YOUR CONTENT AFTER IT’S BEEN PUBLISHED:

“Out of sight, out of mind” shouldn’t apply to any aspect of your nonprofit – especially for your content. You put in all those hours making sure you had the perfect blog post or piece of premium content so be sure to see how your audience reacted to it. There is so much data at your disposal that after awhile you can hone in on what type of content your constituents like best and maximize your content creation time.

Why this matters...

The rise of content creation isn’t an unprecedented one, in fact, it has been at the forefront of marketing trends for several years in a row. Creating engaging content that grows your donor pool and increases conversions is vital to your organization’s success. Take the time to analyze your content and determine which types perform the best so that you continue to produce increasingly stellar pieces for your audience.

WHAT YOU SHOULD BE DOING ON SOCIAL MEDIA:

Social media is a growing landscape that changes often — sometimes daily. And if you’re wondering what you should be doing on social media, here are five things that specifically nonprofits should be doing on social media. The very first thing (and possibly most important thing) mentioned is keeping “up with the latest trends.” Being able to display your content on social in new ways provides your organization an excellent opportunity to engage existing constituents and simultaneously gain new ones. People like what’s new and always will, and being at the top of your social media game is vital to keeping your audience enthused.

Why this matters...

Everyone knows that social media is an industry that has been booming for years and shows no signs of slowing down. Mastering the craft of social media advertising will provide you with quick results, and the long-term effects will be even more trackable. It’s no longer just the older generations that are giving – millennials have also been giving at alarming rates as of late!
