You put in the time to create content, now what?

VIDEO HAS MORE COMPONENTS THAN JUST PRODUCTION:

HANDPICKED BY SHANE KEHL

MediaBrix conducted a study and found that less than 30 percent of people turn their phone to view horizontal videos. That being said, here are 3 things you should know about vertical video.

1. Vertical video is more prominent than ever among publishers

2. Most vertical video ads are 15-second spots

3.Entertainment leads the charge

Why this matters...

More than 62 percent of the world’s internet viewers will watch videos during 2017. When viewing anything on mobile, potential donors want everything to be done with ease and in a simplistic, yet stylistic way. Using vertical videos could increase average view time and also a more positive experience with the user, which always bodes well for your organization.

YOU PUT IN THE WORK, NOW GET THE REWARD!

HANDPICKED BY TERESA DE BREY

This applies to so many aspects of nonprofit marketing. An example of this can be seen in one of HubSpot’s latest blog posts: 10 Ways to Distribute One Piece of Content (Besides Social Shares). All the planning, research, writing, and editing that goes into a piece of content needs to be rewarded by sharing it in many different ways.

Why this matters...

Content is king for marketers in any sector, so if you’re taking the time to create masterpieces, then take the time to promote it in a variety of ways. Sharing posts on social media is great, but there are so many other tactics that can lead to a higher number of views, and ultimately subscribers – that very well could become constituents and eventual donors.

HERE’S HOW TO PRODUCE BETTER CONTENT:

HANDPICKED BY KELSEY WHITEHOUSE

Marketing Land details how choosing a niche audience helps you produce better content. Many marketers make the mistake of trying to appeal to everyone, and that often results in spreading the team too thin. Focusing on content where you can give insight provides much more value to your readers – remember: quality over quantity.

Why this matters...

Appealing to the masses may seem like a good way to reach a large number of viewers, but generic content won’t drive any conversions on your site. Picking an area that your nonprofit has experience in can drive views from a foundation of users that will continue to grow as you publish more content. Haven’t begun blogging?
