SOME PEOPLE THINK THE EARTH IS FLAT – THOSE SAME PEOPLE THINK BLOGGING IS A WASTE OF TIME: Blogging occasionally gets a bad rap, but HubSpot is here to tell you why that’s just downright nonsense. Some blogs might be ineffective, but that’s because they’re most likely not being utilized correctly. This post goes over fundamental blog tips and the change that marketers have seen over the years from their blogging efforts. If you aren’t in the mood to read it, here’s a quick summary: blogging is more important now than ever.

Why you should care: The people who think blogging isn’t effective or a good use of time probably have zero idea what the data actually says. According to HubSpot, 53% of marketers say blog content creation is their top inbound marketing priority. That means a MAJORITY of marketers think blog content creation is their TOP inbound marketing priority. Print this out and staple it around your department offices so everyone knows just how valuable blogging is.

JUST ANOTHER WAY FOR USERS TO SEE YOUR FACEBOOK ADS, AGAIN: Facebook is rolling out a new feature that allows users to see which Facebook ads they recently clicked. The reason behind this is that many users will click an ad, but if they want to revisit it later it’s very hard to find since you can’t just search the creator’s profile. This latest update will enable the user to go back and see all the ads they’ve clicked under a “Recent Ad Activity” section of Facebook.

Why you should care: Your Facebook ads can now be easily accessed again by people who obviously care the most. If potential applicants go back to an ad of yours that they previously clicked, the value of that click is tremendous! It’s only a matter of time before Facebook lets you know WHO saved your ad and just how many times they’ve clicked on it. This is Facebook’s latest move to keep advertisers happy by increasing the likelihood that a user will complete a purchase, download a resource, or sign up for an event.

HOW COULD YOU POSSIBLY CONVEY YOUR MESSAGE IN 6 SECONDS? YWe can’t really tell you how to best convey your message, but we can tell you that doing it in 6 seconds is definitely possible. As a matter of fact, 6 second ads are becoming increasing popular and effective. Six-second ads are becoming widely adopted – YouTube saw a 70% quarter-over-quarter increase in advertisers running six-second ads since Q1 2017.

Why you should care: In this new age of digital marketing, everything needs to quick and to the point. Don’t waste potential students’ time by drawing out a simple message into a more elaborate and elongated video. Don’t believe that’s what potential applicants want?
